Germany will avoid recession and return to growth in the first quarter, the central bank of Europe’s largest economy predicted yesterday.
But economists immediately cast doubt on the bold prediction, warning that it was far too early to ‘sound the all-clear’.
The Bundesbank said in its monthly report that it expects output to pick up in the first three months of 2013, despite falling 0.6 per cent in the final quarter of last year.
